Dr. Morgenstern was asked by the dutch neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjay Harhangi for guidance during his first cervical endoscopic spine surgery. For the first time ever a cervical endoscopic spine surgery was performed in the Netherlands. Dr. Hahangi had previously completed a preceptorhsip at the Morgenstern Institute of Spine in Barcelona, Spain to learn the technique of cervical endoscopic spine surgery instructed first hand by Dr. Morgenstern who is an international renowned expert in endoscopic spine surgery.

Hence, on June 16th 2023 two patients succesfully underwent cervical endoscopic spine surgery at the Park Medisch Centrum in Rotterdam, Netherlands by Dr. Harhangi under the guidance in person by Dr. Morgenstern. The patients were immediately pain free after the surgery and discharged from the hospital just a few hours after surgery. Congratulations to Dr. Harhangi and his team!

Dr. Morgenstern taught as an international faculty in an international hands-on workshop for anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) in geneva, Switzerland. Senior and experienced surgeons came from all over the world (USA, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, United Kingdom, etc.) to join this workshop and learn the ALIF technique from expert spine surgeons like Dr. Morgenstern. The anterior approach to the spine allows placing interbody spacer into the disk with a small skin incision on the patient’s belly. Dr. Morgenstern is an international expert in this complex surgical technique that requires special skills and a lot of experience to be safely done. The advantages of ALIF are that patients recover very quickly after surgery and usually are discharged in less than 24 hours after surgery.
